GIS Interactive Web Map technology is a popular tool used to present geospatial data live to users on the Internet.  This type of mapping  technology provides clients with 24 hour access spatial information to help solve many simple and common every day problems. To access a map database, an Internet connection and Web browser are configured running various software packages such as ESRI to allow the user to interactively access spatial information based on their queries. There has been an increase in the general usage of Web Map technology so we now have started to find them created for basic web mapping such as Google Maps or Bing Maps as well as provincial and municipal levels of mapping services. On CanadianGIS.com I have highlighted many of the great GIS Interactive Web Maps that are available in Canada.
